Development: Set

Phew! Many hours of sawing, sanding and gluing later… we have the first three pieces of our furniture! The bed is 9 x 8.5, Bookshelf is about 10 inches high, and the dresser is 6 inches high. The rocking chair is soon to come!

Inspirations for Grandpa’s room

If little red is going to be little blue or whatever, here’s some decor options we discussed/things that would be cool to do:

Supplies Needed for the Room

Dimensions of both desk tables is 3 feet x 4 feet put together. (this is an estimate :) ..)

I’m thinking out what exactly we need for just the room and what I have already:

Bed – made out of wood (or baked clay) and cloth
Prop Lamps – clay
Rocking Chair (?) – clay and cloth
Window curtains – cloth
Epoxy – just in case
Hot Glue – i have a hot glue gun, which i think most of us do but we’ll need a lot more sticks
Steel Sheet/ Floor – needs to be bought at Home Depot
Cloth to cover floor – felt? even cloth would work

Foam board/wood for the walls – which would last 5 weeks?

Does anyone have transparency paper for the windows? otherwise this needs to be bought at staples

Paint – I’ve got some

Lights – I have a few but I need more

So my living room is all set up for building the set by next week :) …. I’m going to go out and buy this stuff and we’ll figure out costs later unless one of you guys already have anything on this list. Let me know ASAP!

Questions that came up in our meeting today

Characters: Who is making the wolf?We think that Jennie and Takako will make the characters together because it will take an exceptional amount of time to make the set.
- The wolf needs to be  large in comparison to the other characters.  How are we going to account for this? Takako thinks that maybe we could play with camera angles to “fake it”. Or… we could restrict the wolf to the bed and really only show her big head and suggest other parts.

Set Design? Where are we with this? Will we be able to keep on schedule and shoot for next week? If not, we can try to rush the paper shadow scenes and the stomach scene.

Supplies: To share costs, and to figure out where we stand- we will bring all of our supplies next week to the “set”. Then we will assess the situation.

Lighting: What are we doing about lighting?

Sound: We know that we want something that is not copyrighted. But what?
